And if it does come in threes, our run of luck should be improving. Yesterday, I totalled my car.
I was nearly home after having gone to negotiate futher with the couple who’s house we’re looking at buying, travelling along the country roads between here and there. An Italian couple waved me down to ask for direction back onto the main road to Edinburgh. Knowing it would only take me me a few minutes just to drive them out of the maze of back roads I turn my car to lead them up to main intersection. We all got out of our cars at the crossroad, rain pissing down, and I directed them on the best route from there.
I had to do a u-turn at the junction to follow the road back home and cross back over the ‘main’ road. I turn, looked both ways, took off and BAM! Blind sided by a car doing (most likely) 60 mph. I ended up on top of the hood of his car with a fence post (which stopped my car flipping over into the field) crushing my front passenger door. I saw the man get out of his car, managed to reach my phone and call for help…
Every muscle in my body hurts today. Both shoulders are bruised badly as is my left leg and lower back, minor cuts and grazes to my left arm and a little whiplash… I have been a little emotional too. If anyone is too nice to me I burst into tears and the list of ‘what if’s’ makes me physically ill.
I would say my angels were working overtime yesterday. It could have been so much worse. Thank God the kids were not with me!
